For decades the following artists have seen and heard music that has spanned most of their lives. Picking their top ten CDs, if stranded somewhere, was for some an almost impossible assignment – yet these lists reflect the musicians’ choices, highlighting a wide-range of genres and segments in music.
Chick Corea
Multi-instrumentalist and one-time member of the legendary Miles Davis Quintet, Armando Anthony Corea is best known for his influential 1970s jazz fusion work, especially with his group Return to Forever. And in 2008, Corea became involved with a new group (the Five Peace Band,) which found jazz guitarist John McLaughlin and Corea collaborating together for the first time.
